The song says, "You better watch out, You better not cry", so now that Christmas shopping is upon us, Maw-Bell Designs is going to keep you from crying by giving you some great ideas for Christmas gifts that you can make yourself. So, over the next couple of weeks we will highlight projects from our new book, Sew a Backyard Adventure. You will see that although we used an outdoor theme for our book, the projects are very versatile and can be made with different fabrics to suit many different looks.
You "Better not pout, I'm telling you why", because our book is a great gift for the sewer, crafter, or quilter on your list. If you're "making a list, And checking it twice", just add our book to the top! If you don't have the time to make a project from the book, then just give the book!
For the kids on your list, make them the vest shown on the cover. We call it the Campy Kids Vest.
Joseph is wearing a vest we made for him that uses fabrics that feature bugs. He loves the bright colors! The vest would look great made in fabrics and colors for a favorite sport's team, such as, orange, blue, and white for the Denver Broncos or yellow, green, and white for the Green Bay Packers. You can buy fabrics that are licensed by sport's organizations with the team logos, etc. printed on them. Make the vest in a kid's favorite color combinations or with fabrics that feature their favorite cartoon characters. The vests are fun for kids, because with plenty of pockets, they can pack a whole bunch of stuff! Customize them for each kid on your list. Our instructions are very detailed and feature illustrations for every step, but if you are a beginning sewer, leave the lower front pockets off!
"So be good for goodness sake!". Check back for more ideas so you can start to check off that list!
Happy sewing!
Susan and Sally
